Local Editor(FNA) – Jordanian officials disclosed that the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) terrorists have undergone military training by American elite forces in Jordan.
“American forces trained the ISIL recruits in a secret military base in Jordan in 2012,” Ilaf news website quoted Jordanian officials as saying.
The Jordanian officials also said that all ISIL militants trained by the US to fight in Syria have gone under background checks to make sure that they do not have any relations with radical Al-Qaeda groups.
In February 2012, the American World.net news website had disclosed that the US, Turkey and Jordan had cooperated with each other to administer a military training center in Al-Safavi town in a desert in Northern Jordan for training of militants preparing for fight in Syria.
In March, the UK-based Guardian newspaper also wrote that the trainers from the US, France and Britain provide training support for Syrian militants in Syria.
Meantime, the ISIL branch in Jordan declared its existence on Tuesday. This comes while the ISIL has threatened to attack the Jordanian officials.
