Yemeni army and popular committees fired a toshka missile on al-Anad military base in the southern Yemeni province of Lahj, killing and injuring dozens of Saudi-led forces and mercenaries.
Yemeni sources first reported the missile attack which is part of the army and committees’ retaliation for the brutal attack by the Saudi-led aggression against the Arab impoverished country.
Sabaa news agency then quoted army spokesman, Brigadier General Sharaf Luqman as confirming the rocket attack. “The missile unit targeted a gathering for the aggression forces in al-Anad military base with a Toshka ballistic missile,” Luqman announced.
The spokesman praised the army and the committees, saying the rocket hit its target with high level of accuracy, noting that the attack came after intelligence surveillance activity.
Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
However, Yemeni army, backed by the committees has been responding to the aggression by targeting several Saudi border military posts and cleansing several areas across the country, especially the country’s south, from Hadi and al-Qaeda-linked militias.
