Tehran Times – On the Global Day of Action around the world, protesters in large numbers poured their anger on the streets to mark 100 days since the Israeli regime began its genocidal attacks in Gaza.
In another sign of the Israeli regime’s growing isolation in the public eye, protests were waged literally in every country around the world. These included:
UNITED STATES
Tens of thousands converged in front of the White House. They raised placards and chanted slogans questioning President Joe Biden’s ability to run for a second term because of his complicity in the Israeli army’s slaughter campaign of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
Among the signs seen at the rally read “No Votes for Genocide Joe”, “Biden has blood on his hands” and “Let Gaza live”.
The Biden administration has bypassed Congress on at least two occasions to ship weapons to the Israeli military. The U.S. has also vetoed UN resolutions calling for an end to the Israeli massacres.
UNITED KINGDOM
The British capital was the scene of yet another weekend that saw hundreds of thousands march through London calling for a “ceasefire now”. Chants of “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” were heard again despite desperate UK attempts to try and ban the chant. Analysts have described the attempts by the ruling Conservative party to ban the chant as a pathetic attempt to interfere with the role of the police and distract the public from the Israeli war crimes being backed by the government.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
In Dublin, tens of thousands called for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador, and for the Irish government to support South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice where evidence of the Israeli regime’s war on Gaza is being conducted with genocidal intent was presented.
SWITZERLAND
Defying bans in German-speaking areas, tens of thousands of people joined the Global Day of Action whilst criticizing Switzerland’s declared neutrality. The crowds argued that Switzerland’s neutral and humanitarian commitment according to UN resolutions has been “flagrantly violated” because of what the organizers said was the country’s clear pro-Israel stance that it has adopted since the Zionist regime waged its death and destruction campaign on the people of Gaza.
FRANCE
Tens of thousands braved the chilly weather to march in Paris for hours holding signs that read “We are all Palestinians”, “Israel is a murderer,” and “Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people.”
Large banners read: “Stay silent while children sleep, not when they die”.
ROMANIA
In Bucharest protesters held banners that called for an embargo on the arming of the Israeli military. The rally was organized by the association of “Romania-Palestine Solidarity”.
MALAYSIA
Another significant demonstration took place outside the U.S. embassy in Kuala Lumpur in protest to the American complicity in the regime’s war on Gaza. The Malaysian government last month banned Israeli-affiliated ships from dockings at its ports and declared it would no longer allow any vessels traveling to the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories to unload their cargo at its maritime ports.
SOUTH AFRICA
Demonstrations took place outside the U.S. consulate in Johannesburg, where the country’s population has been further inspired by their government’s lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Many analysts have pointed out that the case has shown the bravery of South Africa, while also being symbolic in that an African country for once was on TV telling white judges about upholding international law.
South Africa’s Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement told al Jazeera, “We’re going to be here until we can make sure there is a ceasefire and sufficient humanitarian assistance for Gaza.”
INDONESIA
Thousands of people also gathered outside the U.S. embassy in Jakarta, waving Indonesian and Palestinian flags and holding signs that read “Boycott Israel” and “Ceasefire Now.”
Other rallies also took place in countries including Austria, Denmark, Iran, Mexico, Bahrain, Bangladesh, India, the Netherlands, Belarus, and Germany as well as Jordan and elsewhere.
TEL AVIV
Meanwhile, protests against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu saw the families of captives taken by the Palestinian resistance staged a rally in front of the regime’s Kirya military base in Tel Aviv.
In what has been dubbed “100 days of hell”, the protestors called on the regime’s government to ensure the immediate release of the captives held by the resistance fighters in Gaza.
Experts say the Israeli regime has failed miserably in its military campaign to “dismantle Hamas” and “release the captives”. It has failed to dismantle the military strength of the Palestinian resistance, which has inflicted thousands of injuries on Israeli soldiers.
At the same time, such is the paranoia among Israeli soldiers fighting the resistance forces in the enclave, the only time it had the opportunity to save three of its captives, who were shirtless, holding white flags, and shouting in Hebrew for help, Israeli troops shot them dead.
This is while the regime has displaced the majority of Gaza’s 2.3 million population, who have been starved and are dying in numbers. These scenes have prompted people around the world to take to the streets in support of the Palestinians’ struggle for freedom.
