Syrian Army, Hezbollah launched a powerful attack against ISIS at Syrian-Lebanese border, dozens killed
The Syrian Arab Army’s 43rd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division – alongside Hezbollah, Qawat Al-Jaleel (Palestinian paramilitary), and Dara’ Qalamoun (Qalamoun Shield) – launched a powerful attack against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in the Jaroud Qarah region of the Qalamoun Mountains on Monday, killing several terrorists while clearing a number of hilltops.
Hezbollah led the charge in the Qalamoun Mountains on Monday, striking ISIS at the village of Shamsiyah inside Jaroud Qarah; this was followed by another powerful assault at Anid Ma’br in Jaroud Qar’ah.
According to a Syrian military source in Damascus, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah killed a total of 19 ISIS combatants, while also destroying 4 pick-up trucks that were mounted with a variety of anti-aircraft machine guns.
The Syrian-Lebanese border has recently become a hotbed for terrorist activity; especially, after ISIS’ presence at the town of Dumayr was reduced because of a three-way ceasefire agreement.
ISIS is attempting to maintain a presence in the Qalamoun Mountains, but they are struggling to hold their ground in Jaroud Qar’ah.
