A 13-year-old Palestinian was martyred Saturday after reportedly attempting to stab an “Israeli” security guard outside of an illegal West Bank settlement northeast of al-Quds.

Meanwhile, “Israeli” police spokesperson Luba al-Samri claimed that the girl approached a gate leading into the Anatot settlement, and attempted to stab a security guard.

The guard immediately fired gunshots at the 13-year-old, injuring her critically, al-Samri added, in which she died on site shortly after. The reported operation is the most recent to take place amid an ongoing wave of unrest in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Separately, at least 33 Palestinians sustained gunshot wounds during new separate clashes with “Israeli” forces in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Medics said a total of 15 Palestinians were shot by live rounds, while at least two others were hit by rubber bullets in the al-Faraheen neighborhood of Khan Yunis.

One of those injured was reportedly shot in the abdomen, and is in critical condition. Meanwhile, “Israeli” forces shot tear gas canisters at the protesters who set tires ablaze. In parallel, the northern West Bank town of Kafr Qaddum witnessed “Israeli” soldiers shooting and injuring three Palestinians, including a 9-year-old girl identified as Ayat Zahi.

Clashes also erupted between “Israeli” forces and Palestinians in the city of Qalqilya, leaving at least eight people injured. A 20-year-old Palestinian man, identified as Tamir Thiyab, lost an eye after being shot with a rubber bullet in the face.

In Bilin, locals said 10-year-old Bashar Mustafa al-Khatib was injured with a bullet in the head, while dozens of others suffered tear gas inhalation.

Tensions are high since “Israel’s” imposition in August of restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds.
