Starvation Kills 17 People in Iraq’s Mosul

TEHRAN (FNA) – People in the ISIL-held Iraqi city of Mosul are facing acute shortage of food and medicine as scores of civilians have already lost their lives.

At least 17 people were reported dead in Mosul’s Jomhouriya Hospital as a result of starvation, the Arabic-language Al-Baghdadiya news website reported.

The ISIL cannot meet the needs of the Iraqi city which has been under its control for more than one year.

Last June, the ISIL terrorist group seized control of the city of Mosul after the sudden withdrawal of the Iraqi security forces from the city.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
