Iran’s Rouhani: Islamophobia a Zionism conspiracy

“The two nations’ history, religion, culture and common interests necessitates acceleration in mutual relations,” said President Rouhani in Ankara after signing of Tehran-Ankara cooperation documents.

In this press conference that was held on Saturday, Dr Rouhani said: “The way for comprehensive cooperation between Iran and Turkey has been paved”.

Mentioning the third meeting of the strategic partnership of Tehran and Ankara, Dr Rouhani said: “The two countries are determined to develop and bolster their relations in all areas of mutual interest”.

He also described economies of Iran and Turkey as complementary to each other and said: “During the past years, good steps have been taken but the sanctions and global economy impeded the process and now in the post-JCPOA and post-sanctions era, we should remove the obstacles on the way of cooperation”.

On the decisions to create credit lines and banking cooperation, he added: “We decided to develop relations between banks and Turkish banks can have branches in Tehran”.

“The presidents of both countries have chosen plenipotentiary representatives and have tasked them with removing the obstacles quickly so that the stop time period of the two countries’ lorries in customs will be decreased to the lowest figure possible,” said the President while talking about customs-related issues.

President Rouhani added: “Private sectors of both countries should be encouraged to form joint ventures in order to export [their productions] to other countries, especially in the field of energy”.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran assured Turkey that it can guarantee its energy supply in the fields of oil, natural gas, electricity and petrochemical products” he added.

Dr Rouhani also referred to tourism and added: “The two countries can cooperate with each other to attract other countries’ tourists and Turkey can invest in Iran with regard to its experiences”.

On cultural commonalities between the two countries, he also said: “The two countries’ cultural and academic sectors’ relations should be developed”.

“The Yemeni people are facing with brutal massacre, also in Syria, the killing of innocent people is underway and in Iraq, there is no favourable stability” he added, saying that Turkey and Iran are religiously responsible to attempt to establish stability and security in the region.

“Iran and Turkey share the view that terrorism should be seriously fought with and also the fact that foreign powers have no right to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs and it is only the people of any country who can decide on the future of their country” continued Dr Rouhani.

Mentioning some minor disagreements between the two countries in regional issues, he also said: “These minor disagreements are natural and we are ready to consult more, especially in combatting terrorism and introducing the true face of Islam to the world”.

Dr Rouhani went on to say that Islamophobia is the Zionism’s conspiracy.

“Attempting to maintain unity in the Islamic World and stopping the Zionist Regime from is oppressive measures, as well as preserving the rights of the oppressed people of Palestine are included in the important goals of the OIC and Iran will stand by it until it follows these main goals,” added the President.

He also said that the two presidents followed three main goals, namely upgrading the level of Muslim women in the Islamic society, fighting extremism, violence and terrorism, and the need to strengthen unity in the Islamic World.

In this press conference, President Erdoğan also said: “Beyond their neighbourly relations, Iran and Turkey are two brother countries and can have constructive cooperation at mutual and regional levels”.

“We are determined to decrease their disagreements by strengthening political ties between the two countries” added Erdoğan.
