Iran criticizes Canada for claims at UN against Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program
Iran’s Representative to the United Nations Mohammad Ali Mottaqinejad Wednesday afternoon criticized biased remarks made by the Canadian permanent envoy to the UN against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Reacting to the remarks made Wedneaday by Guillermo Rishchynski at the UN Security Council, the Iranian diplomat said the Canadian envoy raised issues against the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities while the government of Canada was involved itself in violating basic rights of a large number of the country’s people, mostly native Canadians.
Rishchynski’s support for the Zionist regime and his anti-Iran claims were made, while he forgot to mention that it was the usurper regime which had the only nuclear arsenal in the region, refused to sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty and was committing large-scale crimes in the occupied lands, Mottaqinejad said.
Criticizing Canada’s all-out support for the Zionist regime, the Iranian diplomat added Ottawa supported the Zionist entity while the latter’s expansionist policies and its crimes against Palestinians have always been condemned by the world’s nations.
Mottaqinejad reiterated that Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities were only being made for meeting the country’s energy needs.
