Khamenei: “Foreign intelligence services behind currency crisis”
Mehr News Agency – Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei met with the security officials of the Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence Wed., during which he blamed the foreign intelligence services for recent decline in the price of Iran’s Rial against foreign currencies.
In the meeting, in addition to the Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi, other security officials including the directors of different departments in the ministry are also attending the meeting. In part of his remarks, the Leader referred to the complicated information warfare waged by the enemies on the Islamic Establishment and the country, saying that the enemies seek to influence officials’ calculations as well as people’s beliefs.
He praised the Intelligence ministry for doing well in repelling threats and its personnel for passing difficult times. Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that foreign intelligence services are targeting the Islamic Establishment, but they have not been successful so far at all. The Leader warned that in case of negligence and if the officials ignore the threats, they might win.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the government officials to fight against corruption more seriously. Referring to the recent increase in the price of foreign currencies against Iran’s Rial, the Leader stressed that foreign intelligence services’ role is very clear.
Before the Leader’s speech, the Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi presented a report on the performances and activities of his ministry, declaring his ministry’s preparedness to confront with the enemies’ threats against the Islamic Establishment.
