BRICS: OPCW Must Play Key Role in Resolving Syria Chemicals Issue
The BRICS group of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa announced that the Organization for the prohibition of the Chemical Weapons (OPCW) must play a key role in resolving Syria chemicals issue, according to Russia Today.
The group held a meeting on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
“We are impatiently waiting for the Resolutions of the OPCW and the UNSC to support the Russian-American accords”, BRICS statement read.
BRICS foreign ministers also called on an immediate ceasefire in Syria, noting a new chance for a peaceful solution for the Syrian crisis.
