Fars News – Commander of the IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guards Corps) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari underlined that US President Donald Trump has unveiled his country’s true nature to the world, warning that now it’s Iran’s turn to correct Washington’s miscalculations.
“Time is now ripe for correcting the US miscalculations. Now that the US has fully displayed its nature, the government should use all its options to defend the Iranian nation’s interests,” General Jafari said on Wednesday in reaction to Trump’s recent remarks at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York.
“Taking a decisive position against Trump is just the start and what is strategically important is that the US should witness more painful responses in the actions, behavior and decisions that Iran will take in the next few months,” he added.
General Jafari expressed pleasure that Trump unveiled the true face of the US to the world through his recent remarks, and said Washington’s repeated failures, specially in the region, have made the Americans perplexed. His remarks came after Trump gave the harsh assessment Iran during his first address to the United Nations General Assembly as President.
“The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the US has ever entered into,” Trump said. “Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States, and I don’t think you’ve heard the last of it. Believe me.
The Iranian government has warned that pulling back from the 2015 nuclear deal would force America to pay a “high cost”.
