US consulate in Istanbul under attacks, blast at police station kills 3
Two attackers opened fire on the United States consulate building in Turkey’s biggest city, Istanbul, on Monday and fled when the police shot back, broadcaster CNN Turk said, while a blast at a police station in a city suburb killed 3.
The Cihan news agency said those involved in the attack on the building in Istanbul’s Sariyer district included one man and one woman. There were no casualties.
Meanwhile, an explosion at a police station in the Istanbul neighbourhood of Sultanbeyli killed three people and injured at least 10, the Dogan news agency said on Monday.
Istanbul police headquarters confirmed in a statement that three police officers and seven civilians were wounded in the blast, but gave no death toll.
