In a meeting with the administrators of Qom’s Payam-e Nour University, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani of emulation, where they discussed the importance of an Islamic atmosphere in the Iranian university system as well as the recent events in France and the Takfiri phenomenon.
During his discussion, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani emphasised the development of the university’s texts and curriculum said also stressed that learning should not be secularized and that is it necessary that the divine and Islamic aspects of all courses and textbooks is evident because Islam covers all aspects of life, including the economy, culture and science as well as its connection with monotheism and theology.
“In the past, our grand scholars studied all types of sciences together, but due to the influence of the West on Islamic countries and societies, they have separated Islamic studies and theology from the other sciences. They have introduced non-religious knowledge as new sciences and have encouraged the world to think that these sciences are new to the Islamic world, while the foundations of all of these science were explained by Islam 1400 years ago,” he stated.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani also emphasized that training students is very important for universities, saying: “The university atmosphere must be a religious atmosphere and a place where piety is pervasive. In the universities, socialization, meetings and attitudes should be based on Islamic ethical beliefs. Islam considers that learning should be combined with ethics. Those who do not have ethics cannot be a considered a scholar. The university atmosphere should have a religious atmosphere and be a place where the [greatness] of the Islamic Revolution is acknowledged.”
The revered source of emulation stressed to the university administration that they choose appropriate teachers, saying it is one of their most important duties. These teachers should be have the utmost level of piety in order to have an [lasting] effect and properly teach and train their students.
In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani referred to the recent events in France, saying: “The Americans, Zionists and Europeans are worried about the progress of Islam because they know that with the spread of Islamic culture, they cannot loot and rob the countries of the Middle East any longer. This is why they created this Islamophobic plan, which involved the creation of ISIL and other Takfiri terrorist movements, which were [falsely] introduced in the name of Islam.”
He lambasted the hypocrisy of Western countries over the crimes committed by ISIL in Syria and Iraq, saying: “Hundreds of thousands of Muslims have been killed in Syria and Iraq but there have been no effective or positive reaction from the Western countries. Now that several citizens of Western countries have been killed, the leaders of many Western countries have gathered and have planned a great and fervent propaganda against Islam.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that financial aid and facilities from Saudi Arabia, the US and Israel and their supporters has been given to the ISIL in the manner of vicious wolves so that they can accomplished the aims of their masters.
