Gaza, Iran top agenda as Trump meets Netanyahu in Florida

Mehr News – Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu met in Florida to discuss key regional files, with Gaza and Iran at the top of the agenda.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks in the United States focusing on Middle East developments, including the Gaza Strip and Iran.
According to Al Jazeera, the meeting took place at Trump’s private residence in Mar-a-Lago, where the two sides discussed several regional and international issues.
Trump outlined the agenda of his meeting with Netanyahu, saying discussions would focus on Gaza and a number of other matters, adding that five major files were reviewed.
Addressing Gaza, Trump claimed that in order to rapidly finalize an agreement, Hamas must be disarmed, despite Hamas officials rejecting any disarmament. He also expressed hope that the process would quickly move to the second phase of the Gaza plan, adding that reconstruction of the Gaza Strip would begin soon.
Repeating claims reported by some Israeli media outlets, Trump alleged that Iran is seeking to rebuild its nuclear capabilities, warning that if they do that, the US will destroy it. He again claimed that Iran is interested in negotiations, alleging that seeking an agreement would be wiser than rebuilding nuclear capabilities.
Trump further alleged that Iran could have reached a diplomatic agreement with the United States before last summer’s attacks.
These claims were reiterated despite the fact that Iran was engaged in talks with the United States at the time, while—according to acknowledgments by US officials and media—Washington was simultaneously coordinating with the Israeli regime to prepare aggression against Iran. Trump himself later admitted that he had commanded the aggression against Iran.
